THE Anthony Azzopardi-trained Zambora Brockie overcame a spirited challenge from Aston Bolero to clinch the 450-metre Warrnambool Cup on Wednesday night.
The winner paid $3.50 on the tote and with the $10,000 winnings took its career prize money to $137,000 with its 16th win from 27 starts.
Flying out of box six, Brockie jumped two lengths clear of the pack after the first 50 metres, but was quickly gobbled up by the Jason Thompson-trained Aston Bolero out of box seven.
