FERNANDO Bale confirmed his status as Australia’s best sprinter with a stunning all-the-way display in the Group 1 Harrison-Dawson at Sandown Park on Thursday night.
Stepping brilliantly from box one, the Andrea Dailly-trained greyhound was two in front at the winning post on the first occasion and never looked in trouble from that point onwards, clocking an airborne time of 29.14 over the 515-metre trip. Angela Langton’s Weston East ran a tremendous race in second, finishing three lengths off the winner with Caustic Bale filling the trifecta back in third.
