Rank outsider Bells Are Ringin ($38.40) took out the world’s richest staying race on May 26, the $250,000 Group 1 RSN Sandown Cup (715m) in 42.018sec for trainer Gerard O’Keeffe and the Four Frothys Syndicate.
The RSN Sandown Cup wasn’t the only feature race run on Sandown Cup night, with Anakie couple Angela Langton and Jeff Britton snaring a kennel Group Listed race double.
