VICTORIANS dominated in the west on Saturday night, taking out the two Group 1 features at Cannington, the Perth Cup (530m) and the Galaxy (715m).
The Galaxy was the first to jump, with the Rob Britton-trained Space Star starting a dominant favourite from box seven. The striking black son of Bekim Bale and Tonto Tears began well, following the pacemaker Starc (box six) over to the fence in the early stages before assuming the lead in the run to the line on the first occasion.
