Veteran Glenroy greyhound trainer Don “Snowy” Hazzard passed away last Friday, aged 91.
Don combined his greyhound racing passion with a love for AFL team, the Footscray Bulldogs where he was a long-time runner and trainer and is a life member.
He was a spritely 46-year-old when first introduced to greyhound racing.
After winning the 2007 G2 AWM Distance Title (725m) at The Meadows with Sky Hazzard, Don said: “I used to take a quadrella each week, and followed Graham Burke’s selections in the Herald Sun. Thanks to Graham, I won $839 on a quadrella and decided to invest in a greyhound pup.”
