True Detective enhanced his growing reputation with an impressive win in the Group 1 Hume Cup (600m) at The Meadows tonight.
A storm hit the opening night of the Festival of Racing, causing significant delays, however that took nothing away from the performance of the Jeff Britton-trained True Detective, who landed his first group win and claimed the $75,000 first prize.
Britton said the performance – in which True Detective paid $2.90 and clocked the smart time of 34.42 – was full of merit.
