The annual Simon Benson Memorial Final (460m) will be held at Warragul tonight in memory of a larger than life character.
Simon Benson was only involved in greyhound racing for about 12 months, but he made a huge impression in that time as the ‘pro catcher’ of Paua Kennels, headed by leading greyhound trainer and close friend Steven White.
Despite not having a runner in tonight’s final, White will be taking a close interest in the race.
“I think Immediate is the one to beat. He’s a nice up-and-coming youngster,” White said.
