Victorian greyhound racing’s new prize money increase saw an extra $46,676 go into the pockets of participants in the first week of operation.
The increases apply to 21 of Victoria’s 23 weekly race meetings (excluding the state’s two full stakes metropolitan meetings), and in the first week 199 of the 248 races (75 per cent) across those 21 race meetings received increases.
The average increase across the 21 race meetings was $2,222 or, to break it down further, $234 per race.
