PANTERA Nera is poised to capture his second Tasmanian feature after scoring an emphatic victory in a semi-final of the Group 2 Launceston Cup (515m) on Monday night.
Trained in Victoria by Gavin Burke, Pantera Nera (pictured after winning his heat) won last month’s Group 3 Devonport Cup (452m) and headed into the Launceston Cup series as a leading contender.
After winning his heat in 29.86, Pantera Nera started as the $1.40 favourite to win his semi-final and, having drawing box six, the black dog could not have been any more impressive.
