Hooked on hype

Young superstar greyhound Hooked On Scotch has continued his meteoric rise by taking out the $67,000 Group 2 Geelong Gold Cup (460m) at the Beckley Centre tonight.

Notching his sixth straight win, the Jason Thompson-trained speedster settled in second position, four lengths behind early pacesetter Runnin’ Royalty, who was the fastest heat winner last week.

Hooked On Scotch ($2.30Fav) won by a length to Runnin’ Royalty ($4.00), with Peter Galo ($6.40) third in the slick time of 25.31sec.
