SIX heats of the Group 3 Gawler Gold Cup series were conducted over 531-metres at the South Australian circuit on Tuesday, with some impressive performances on show throughout a wonderful afternoon of racing.
Heat one was over in a matter of strides, after Gun Mcbain sped to the lead at the first turn, scoring by two-and-one-quarter lengths in a near-record time of 30.37. The son of Spring Gun and Flame Mcbain, trained by Vadim Roz, recorded his 23nd career win at start number 45 at what was his first start since September of last year.
