As part of its ongoing commitment to animal welfare, Greyhound Racing Victoria is introducing a second race meeting at the Healesville Greyhound Racing Club.
The additional meeting is aimed at reducing race track injuries, providing opportunities for all dogs, including slower and older dogs to continue their careers and providing more opportunities for Victorian-bred greyhounds.
Healesville is the only straight track in the state, having the best safety record with less interference in races leading to fewer injuries.
The first meeting will be held this Friday afternoon and will become a regular fixture in the GRV weekly calendar.
