Last weekend’s opening of the $1.3M Australian Cup Carnival was typically spectacular with the running of three Group 1 Invitationals, and adding a nice touch to the night was a heart-warming speech by Greyhound Racing Victoria’s Deputy Chair, Judith Bornstein.
Speaking at the presentation of the $145,000 Group 1 Temlee (525m) – won by Dalgetty – Judith congratulated The Meadows on hosting ‘a wonderful night’ as well as the owners and trainers of all the greyhounds that competed across the 11 race card.
What particularly resonated with the large audience, however, was Judith’s acknowledgement of the greyhounds competing on the night.
