Douglas eyes Easter repeat

Twenty-one years after winning the Group 1 Golden Easter Egg with Carlisle Jack, Bob Douglas once again finds himself with the favourite for NSW’s most prestigious race.

In 2002, Carlisle Jack claimed a breakthrough G1 triumph in the Easter Egg and veteran Heathcote mentor Douglas is optimistic about an historic repeat with Baby Jaycee at Wentworth Park this Saturday night.

“It’s like going back in a time machine,” 74-year-old Douglas said.
