Victorian greyhound Sennachie has claimed the Group 2 Queensland Derby (520m) with a dominant display at Albion Park tonight.
It was a clean sweep for Victorian greyhounds in Brisbane’s age-restricted same-sex series after Circle Of Dreams took out last week’s Bogie Leigh Futurity for female greyhounds.
Sennachie was the only Victorian contender in the $40,000 to-the-winner final following the scratching of the David Burnett-trained Onions O’Reilly. He extended his record to eight wins from 15 starts with a comfortable 7.5 lengths win in 29.53sec over Bad Benny and King Cratos.
