Promising young trainer Jess Fothergill will race her 2015 Waterloo Cup runner-up Suave Odessa at Benalla on Sunday.
National Coursing Association Secretary Sue Delaney said the meeting would present a new challenge for the classy short-course sprinter, who has won 24 of 108 starts on TAB tracks.
“It will be interesting to see how he adapts to the drag lure for the first time after coursing last year behind the (standard) trolley lure in the Waterloo Cup,” Sue said.
The Waterloo Cup was Suave Odessa’s first attempt at coursing, and he was runner-up to Rylee’s Enforcer in the final.
